I found 2 small rips in the sail on my right wingtip.
I guess there was an accident while my hanger partner was moving my Hopper out so he could fly one day. I called the sail maker (Great Lake Sails - Dick Cheney: 801-544-5526) and was told "it will not rip - put some tape on it". I think I can do a little better than tape:
First I used MEK to clean the area well.
I used a soldering iron on low heat to melt the frayed dacron around the edges of the tear.
I used dacron thread to sew the tears closed.
I used poly-tak to attatch this custom patch to cover the seam and to add strength.
I think it looks pretty good. From a distance you cant even see it.
