A 1-piece wind breaker (snowmobile suit) with lots of pockets and a custom velcro GPS mount (left leg) keeps me pretty warm. My fingers get a little cold sometimes but I need to push buttons on the radio and GPS and full-fingered gloves lack precision.
I use a David Clark headset (13.4S) and a fur-lined leather helmet. This setup is very comfortable but probably does not provide as much head protection as a solid helmet would. Goggles for eye protection are a must.
An ICOM A-23 radio and a Garmin Vista GPS help me to get home safe.
